We are so sorry to hear about Audrey. I will always remember with a smile my days playing with the BFI. We had some great times and made some pretty special music. Vickie has always said Aubrey was her favorite bluegrass singer. And not only that he was a good decent man. He will be greatly missed.

The first time I met Aubrey was about 1975 at RW Skeens' Bluegrass Festival in Sciota Furnace, Ohio. When the Boys From Indiana were introduced they literally ran on the stage and came out playing at the same time. I had never seen such high energy, enthusiastic, soulful and really heartfelt music like them before. Aubrey emotional, heartfelt solos were always a highlight of their show for me and his masterful song writing was second to none.
I was just getting started in playing bluegrass in those days but knew I wanted to do what those guys were doing. Not only picking and singing great music, but entertaining folks by putting on a show with all their heart.
Over the years I was fortunate to befriend all the boys as many others have and always enjoyed playing shows with them and socializing on their bus....where everyone was welcomed with smiles, great conversation and some mighty fine eats!
Aubrey was a friend to so many of us and we will miss him greatly. I am so thankful though that I was one of those many friends.
May God bless the Holt family at this difficult time and may Aubrey rest in peace in the ever loving arms of our Lord.......🌹
