Jack Heller Obituary

               Jack Matthew Heller, 70, of Aurora passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at High Point Health in Lawrenceburg.  Jack was born Friday, September 17, 1948 in Milan; the son of Virgil and Verna “Mickey” (Ashcraft) Heller.  He married Dana Mullins on March 25, 1993 and she survives.  He was an educator/administrator for 46 years at South Dearborn Schools.  He was a member of Moores Hill Methodist Church, entered Allen Lodge in Moores Hill, an active member of Masonic Lodge F & AM # 80 in Dillsboro, past member of multiple teacher associations, always involved in the quality of public education in Indiana and strived to ensure that the students at South Dearborn had a quality education.  He was always involved in Democratic Party politics and he never missed the Democratic poll raising in St. Leon, Indiana.  He was very interested in horse racing, loved animals: wild and domestic, enjoyed watching birds in his backyard, fishing: salt and fresh water, involved in Hemingway Society and his 2nd home was in Key West, Florida.

            Jack is survived by wife Dana; dog Obie; brother Mark Heller of Bright; mother-in-law Linda Mullins and brother-in-law Jon (Pandi) Mullins all of Verona, Kentucky; 1 niece Sarah (Brad) Calusen of Cincinnati, Ohio; 2 nephews: Jacob and Johnathan Mullins; multiple great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jayme Stone.

            A service celebrating his life will be held 1 PM Monday, February 18, 2019 at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill.  Family and friends may gather to honor and remember him 2 - 6 PM Sunday, February 17 also at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 5:45 PM.  Memorials may be given in honor of Jack to Dearborn County P.A.W.S. or the Red Wolf Sanctuary.  Sibbett-Moore Funeral home entrusted with arrangements, 16717 Manchester Street, Box 156, Moores Hill, IN 47032, (812)744-3280.  You may go to www.sibbettmoore.com to leave an online condolence message for the family.
