Jack K Monteith

Jack K. Monteith, 93 of Aurora passed away Tuesday October 17, 2017 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. Jack was born Saturday July 19, 1924 in Spindale, NC the son of Joseph and Laura Monteith. He married Etta Godfrey Monteith in 1942 and she passed 1997, later he met Thelma Monteith and got married in 2002 and she survives. He served his country having served in the US Army.  He had been an over the road truck driver for many years.  Jack was a member of the Holman Christian Union Church and Milan American Legion Post # 235. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, traveling, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.   

     Jack is survived by wife, Thelma of Aurora; son: Larry (Vickie) Monteith of Charlotte, NC; daughter: Jackie (Darren) Medford of Far City, NC; 8 Grandchildren and several Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Etta Godfrey Monteith, daughter: Laura Wood, grandson: Matthew Monteith, 2 brothers, 3 sisters.

  Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday October 20 at Holman Christian Union Church 12020 North Hogan Road Aurora, In 47001 with Pastor Mike Addison officiating.  Burial will follow in Hogan Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the Milan American Legion Post # 235. Visitation will be October 19, 2017 Thursday 4-7PM also at the church.
