Lehmen F Combs

Lehmen French Combs was born in Domino, KY on September 10, 1926, and passed away on December 12, 2017.  He attended grade school in Glomawr, Kentucky, his freshman year of high school at Vicco, Kentucky, his sophomore and junior years at Guilford High school, and graduated from Lawrenceburg, High School.

He served in the Navy and was discharged at the end of World War II.

Lehmen  was married to Lucille Mary Knigga  on August 13th, 1949 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bear Branch, IN.

Lehmen was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at Dillsboro, Indiana and a member of the Dillsboro Civic Club.  He worked at the Dearborn Farm Bureau Co-op for 17 years, and then retired from Indiana Michigan Power Company after 22 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Specia Begley Combs, and a sister, Beulah Combs Morgan.

Lehmen is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lucille; their children: David  (Erma) Combs and Donna (Dennis) Hutchinson;  5 grandchildren:  Christopher (Tammy) Combs, Misty Combs,  Viola Combs (Chuck)  Davis, Katherine Hutchinson (Jordan) Feigerle, and Laura Hutchinson (Jacob) Bryant; and 8 great grandchildren: Sarah Combs, Shylee Combs, Braven Combs, Michael Wheeler, Susan Davis, Shelby Davis and  step-grandchildren Jeremiah Stout and Brittany Stout.  Surviving siblings are Leila Edwards, Ronald (Phyllis) Combs, and Annette (Arnold) Cutter.

                Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday December 16 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dillsboro with Pastor Pamela Thiede and Mr. Keith Allhands officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro with Military Rites by the Versailles American Legion Post #173.  Visitation will be Friday 4-7 PM at   Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home and Saturday 10-11AM at the church.
