Paul Johnson Obituary

Paul Johnson, 74 of Moores Hill passed away Saturday April 7 at his residence.  Paul was born Saturday December 18, 1943 in Knott County, Kentucky the son of Milford and Irene (Childers) Johnson.  He married Cheryl “Gail” (Plain) Johnson September 11, 1967 and she survives. 

     Paul served his country as a Green Beret in the US Army.  He was a member of the Milan American Legion.  He was in management with Rumpke, where he had worked and retired from.   Paul was a member of the Buena Vista Southern Baptist Church and attended Hope Baptist Church.  He loved bluegrass music, liked stillboard shooting, and spending time with his family. 

     Paul is survived by wife of 50+ years Gail, daughter Joyce (Larry) Schornick of Sunman, sons Lee Johnson of Milan and Jamie (Suzanne) Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee; Grandchildren Danielle, Nicci, Kyle, Keith, Brad, Alyssa, and Cole; Great grandchildren Landon, Ava, Jocelyn, Rylee, and Weston; brothers Graden and Rex Johnson and sisters Geraldine Eldridge and Sandra Johnson; host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Bradford Paul Johnson, brother Dick Johnson and sister Brenda Thomas.

     Funeral services will be 10AM Tuesday April 10, at Hope Baptist Church, 15593 US 50, Dillsboro, 47018 with Pastor Tom Holt officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Memory Cemetery near Sunman, with full military rites provided by the Milan American Legion Post #235 . Visitation will be 5-8PM Monday, April 9 also at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan handling arrangements.  Go to www.lawscarrmoore.com to leave an online condolence message for the family.
