Dennis Ray Mix, 68, of Dillsboro passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024. Dennis was born on Thursday, January 19, 1956, in Batesville; son of Melvin and Kathryn (Waldon) Mix. Dennis married the love of his life, Peggy (Cutter) Mix, on June 16, 1979, and she survives him. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean. Dennis worked for 18 years as an operator for the Dearborn County Highway Department and also worked 20+ years for Dillsboro Elementary School doing custodial work. He enjoyed playing softball and was an avid IU basketball fan.

       Dennis will be missed by his wife of 45 years, Peggy Mix of Dillsboro; children Erin (Jacob) Menchhofer of Alaska, Drew Mix of Dillsboro, and Elizabeth (Jason) McKenzie of Arcadia, Indiana; brother Steve (Kim) Mix of Dillsboro; sister Debbie (Jerry) Brockman of Carthage, Indiana; and grandchildren Ava, Ella, Willow, Alec, Camryn, Maggie, and Georgia.

       Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Kathryn Mix.

       Family and friends may gather in remembering Dennis from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Olean; 5869 IN-129, Versailles, IN 47042. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 19, 2024, and the St. Paul Lutheran Church Olean, with Rev. Dr. Evangeline Anderson-Rajkumar officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Dennis to St. Paul Lutheran Church Olean, Friendship Fire Department, or Hogan Township Fire Department.
