Frederick "Fred" Hofstetter Obituary

             Frederick “Fred” Gerald Hofstetter, 83, of Milan, formally of Moores Hill, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg. Fred was born Thursday, August 12, 1937 to Joseph Hofstetter and Catherine (Kindoll) Hofstetter. On Saturday, March 17, 1956, he married his loving wife of 64 years, Joan (Auel) Hofstetter. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Navy and after 35 years of working for Procter and Gamble, he retired in 1994. This allowed Fred additional time to enjoy the activities he loved most such as wood working, camping, traveling, and being outdoors with his family. Fred was also a member of Shriners, the Dillsboro Masonic Lodge, and The National Rifle Association (NRA). He was a former member of Hogan Hill Baptist Church and the American Legion of Milan post #235.             

            Fred is survived by his wife, Joan, of Milan; children Frederick Hofstetter JR. (Shannon) of Cincinnati, Kimberly (Kenny) Mockbee of Moores Hill, Gregory Hofstetter of Moores Hill, Timothy Hofstetter of Fort Worth, Texas, and Steven (Crista) Hofstetter of Manchester; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, along with 3 brothers and 4 sisters.            

            A visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 12:30 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately after at 1 PM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with full military rites provided by the American Legion of Milan post #235. Memorials may be given in honor of Fred to Shriners Hospital for Children.
