Geraldine Houston Obituary

            Geraldine Houston, 87, of Osgood passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at her residence with her loving family by her side.  Geraldine was born to Arthur and Bertha (Powell) Barrett in Madison County, Kentucky on Sunday, October 8, 1933.  She married John  “Eddie” Houston on July 13, 1964 and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1991.  Geraldine was a member of Negangards Corner Baptist Church.  She worked at the Osgood shoe factory and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed quilting, loved flowers, gardening, reading and writing letters and cards to her family.  

            Geraldine is survived by her sons: Nathan Nickell (Lori) of Indianapolis and Matthew Nickell (Brenda) of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters: Shannon Dehner (Carl) of Versailles, Sherry Calvert (Tony) of Osgood, Sharla Houston (Greg)  of Moores Hill, and Sheila Houston Harmon (Junior) of Milan; brother Delbert Barrett of Trenton, Ohio; sisters: Dorothy Geisler of Dayton, Ohio, LueCinda Rogers of Lebanon, Ohio, and Delora Lykins of Florida; special family friend: Debbie Scott; many nieces and nephews; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bertha, daughter Shelly Billingsley, brothers Joe, Oscar, Arnold, Jessie, Lloyd Barrett, and sister Ola Mehring and Fannie Smith.  3 great grandchildren: Paycin Kritlow, Macy Demaree and Jeremiah Acton. 

            Family and friends may gather to share and remember Geraldine from 9-11 am  Monday, December 21, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan.  A service celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m.  Monday December 21, 2020 at the funeral home with pastor Tom Holt officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill.  Memorials may be given in honor of Geraldine to the Gideons International, donor’s choice, or the deaf foundation.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements, 707 S.
