John W. Strassell

          John Walter Strassell, 65, of Dillsboro passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. John was born on Friday, March 23, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio; son of Walter and Dolores (Smith) Strassell. John married Nancy (Schneider) Strassell on August 16, 1997. John was a member of St. Pius Church. He enjoyed Strassell drag racing, flowers, gardening, yardwork and dearly loved Tyson his Mountain Fiest. John’s greatest passion in life was spending time with his family.

          John will be missed by his wife, Nancy Strassell of Dillsboro; son David (Jessica) Strassell of Milan; brothers: Paul (Carol) Strassell of Moores Hill, Mark (Shari) Strassell of Batesville, Jim (Kim) Strassell of Moores Hill, and Robert (Beth) Strassell of Dillsboro; sisters: Pam (Ed) Shannon of Cincinnati, Lois (Gary) Smith of Cincinnati, Mary (John) Browning of Moores Hill, Diane (Chris) Brunner of Elrod, Lisa (Bobby) Davis of Milan, and Donna (Jim) VanCleave of Dillsboro; granddaughter Jasmine; and great-grandchild Oaklee Spitznagel.

          John was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dolores Strassell, and grandson Ethan Strassell.

          Family and friends may gather in remembering John from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan, with Rosary being said at 8:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 213 Ripley Street, Milan, IN 47031, with Father Shaun Whittington officiating. Burial will take place in St. Pius Cemetery.
