Marlene Steuver Obituary

        Marlene Mae (Iceberg) Steuver passed away at the age of 86 at her residence in Dillsboro with her loving family by her side on Monday, October 17, 2022. Marlene was born on Sunday, May 3, 1936 in Friendship, Indiana, daughter of Dietrich and Clara Mae (Voris) Iceberg. Marlene married the love of her life, John R. Steuver Jr., on September 18, 1954. Marlene was a member of the Hope Baptist Church. She worked for US Bank as a bank teller. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, mowing grass, and traveling. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren which she dearly loved, and she loved visiting with her dear friend Audrey Rater.

        Marlene will be greatly missed by her husband, John Steuver Jr., of 68 years of Dillsboro; sons Russell Steuver of Dillsboro and Gordon Steuver (Lisa) of Holton; daughter Donna Crabtree (Gene) of Pleasant; brother George Iceberg of Cross Plains; sister Jeraldine Smith of Aurora; daughter-in-law Terri Steuver of Dillsboro; son-in-law James Conley of Aurora; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

        Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dietrich and Clara Mae Iceberg, son James Steuver, daughter Brenda Conley, brother Ervin Iceberg, and sister Stella Giltner.

        Family and friends may gather in remember Marlene from 9:00-11:00am on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Hope Baptist Church, 15593 Hwy US 50, Dillsboro, IN 47018. A service will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will take place at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Marlene to Dillsboro food pantry or Hope Baptist Church.
