       Randal J. Vanderpool Sr., 82, of Dillsboro passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side. Randal was born on Thursday, October 28, 1943, in Cincinnati; son of George and Edith Mary (Winstead) Vanderpool. Randal was a hard worker and worked as a mechanic for Cincinnati Transmission Specialist and was known to be a “Jack of all trades.” He was known to be a very funny person and always loved to make others laugh. He enjoyed fishing and going boating. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, doing puzzles, and was known to be a very good cook.


       Randal will be missed by his significant other Donna Acree of Dillsboro; son Randal Vanderpool Jr. of Alabama; stepson Mark (Tracie) Dearwester of Cincinnati; daughter Tia Wells of Aurora; stepdaughters Tammy Dearwester of Cleves, and Tonya (Daryl) Oldham of Rising Sun; 3 grandchildren; 3; great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and 21 step-great-grandchildren.


       Randal was preceded in death by his parents George and Edith Vanderpool, wife Donna Vanderpool, and son Terry Vanderpool.


       There are no services at this time. Memorials may be given in honor of Randal to the Heart House or Dillsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
