Shirley Jean (Miller) Weatherford

            Shirley Jean (Miller) Weatherford, 84, of Aurora passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Mercy Health – West Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. Shirley was born on Wednesday, December 1, 1937 in Bright, Indiana; daughter of Dixon and Bertha (Roark) Miller. Shirley married Glen “G.A.” Weatherford on June 16, 1956. She worked for Schenley Distillery and later in life worked at the Friendship State Bank in Dillsboro as a bank teller. She enjoyed reading, gardening, her flowers, watching birds, traveling, and loved her Florida home. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family.

            Shirley will be missed by her loving husband of 65 years, Glen “G.A.” Weatherford of Dillsboro; son Tracy (Missy) Weatherford of Dillsboro; daughter-in-law Bonnie Weatherford of Aurora; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many friends.

            Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Dixon and Bertha, sons Gene and Bradlee Weatherford, three brothers, and four sisters.

            Family and friends may gather in remembering Shirley from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Shirley to the Southeastern Shriners.
