Stephen "Steve" Sembach Obituary

Stephen Brian Sembach, 56, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 from pancreatic cancer with his family around him.  Steve was born in Decatur County Hospital in Greensburg, Indiana, on Wednesday, October 23, 1963, the son of the late Carl A. and Alvena I. Sembach.  Steve was a 1982 Jac-Cen-Del High School graduate and an Ivy Tech graduate.  Steve worked for Hill-Rom for over 26 years.  Steve attended Bethany Baptist Church where he was a humble servant of God driving the church bus for many years.  Steve loved gardening, always planting and harvesting enough fresh vegetables (especially those beautiful potatoes) to share with family, co-workers, as well as his church family.  Steve loved to hunt and was quite excited to be named in the Fair Chase Magazine of the year having hunted the largest buck in Ripley County, Indiana, scoring in at 194 4/8.  Steve was very proud of his sons and shared his quick wit and values.  Steve worked tirelessly every year since the time he was a youngster at the Sheets’ Christmas Tree farm during the holidays and passed this tradition onto his sons.  Steve was never boastful and quite content to be a homebody.

Steve was the proud father of two sons and daughters-in-law: Brian A. (Paige) Sembach and Tyler (Marissa) Sembach; and one grandson, Matthias all of Madison; two brothers: James (Gail) Sembach and Kevin Sembach; two sisters: Bonita (James) Sweeney and Sharilyn (Robert) Shearer; eighteen nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating his life will be held 2 PM Friday, June 12, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Pastor Billy Cloud officiating.  Steve will be laid to rest next to his parents in Mud Pike Cemetery, Osgood, Indiana.  Family and friends may gather to share and remember him 12 Noon - 2 PM Friday also at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given in honor of Steve to Mud Pike Cemetery.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, 707 S Main Street, Box 243, Milan, IN 47031, (812) 654-2141.  Please reach out to the family through our website at www.lawscarrmoore.com to leave an online condolence message or memory of Steve for the family.
